HMO insurance policies may require authorizations prior to being seen. It is the responsibility of the patient for knowing if a referral is required.  If a referral is not received prior to the appointment, insurance may not pay for the visit and therefore, the financial responsibility falls to the patient.

Self-pay: Harrisonburg Dermatology makes every effort in assuring self-pay costs are affordable and in line with insurance reimbursements. Non-insured patients or patients with out-of-network insurance are considered self-pay and are financially responsible for services at the time of care. The Practice will file your claim with your insurance for direct reimbursement, if applicable per your policy.
